The Antibes Street Festival is known as the final event before ‘la rentrée’, the day the children go back to school after the summer holidays. The Antibes Coeur d’Azur tradesman association organises its traditional end-of-summer event for three full days on 24th, 25th and 26th of August this year. Locals and tourists alike benefit from exceptional discounts and offers before the start of the school year.
Now in its seventh year, the street festival boasts more than 120 stalls open from 9.30am to 7.30pm throughout the town. Laurence Peltier from the shop Zhoé & Co on 8 Boulevard Foch says, “[The festival] Starts as soon as you enter the city centre, from Boulevard Foch down the pedestrian zone to Boulevard Albert le 1er. Pedestrians will be able to wander down lanes and alleys in the old town with peace of mind, and flyers and city maps will be available to all participating merchants.”
Special discounts will be offered to visitors in cafés, brasseries and restaurants according to Maurice Carette, to encourage visitors from far and wide to come to Antibes. Elisabeth Dolce from the shop Au Gré du Jour on Place Nationale says, “Clothes, accessories, tableware… Everything can be found at the market!”
