Bastille Day: where to see the fireworks tonight

The Côte d’Azur is celebrating France’s National Day - the commemoration of the famous storming of the Bastille prison in Paris during the French Revolution in 1789 - with a spectacular night of firework extravaganza. But where are the best places to watch the show? 

Menton - from 10.30pm in the Baie des Sablettes

Saint Jean Cap Ferrat - from 10.30pm in Place Clémenceau

Nice - from 10pm in front of the tourism office on the Promenade des Anglais (top tip: why not climb up Mont Boron for a panoramic view of the fireworks right along the coast!)

Saint Laurent du Var - from 10.30pm on the Promenade des Flots Bleus by the harbour

Villeneuve Loubet - from 10.30pm in the old town and along the Loup river 

Juan les Pins - from 10.30pm out in the bay (top tip: beach restaurants and bars will be open late tonight, but you can along enjoy the show from the free public beaches or in the verdure of the Cap d’Antibes 

Cannes - from 10pm out in the Baie de Cannes

Mougins - from 10pm in the Place des Patriotes

Mandelieu la Napoule - from 10.30pm in the bay facing the Plage du Château
