A single ticket for travel on both TER Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur trains and Lignes d'Azur buses will be introduced on 1st June. Card holders will be able to top up their card to take a TER train and then continue their commute on the tram or bus network in Nice, all without having to worry about additional tickets for separate modes of transport.
Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur, says that the card will allow users to considerably simplify their travels in and out of Nice:
"As soon as I arrived in the region, I had expressed my desire to quickly build this partnership between the TER and the Lignes d’Azur network. The introduction of a single ticket will make it easier for metropolitan users using both the TER and the urban network and, I hope, to encourage new people to use our public transport systems. From 2018, a single multimodal subscription for the entire Alpes-Maritimes depart will be available.”
To get a card, you need to make a request for the Zou card at your local train station (from 20th May, although the card won’t be officially introduced until 1st June).
The card will allow, during its period of validity, an unlimited number of trips on:
• The SNCF route indicated on the ticket, which includes all TER stations in the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur (Nice-Ville, Nice-Riquier, Nice-St Augustin, Cagnes-sur-Mer, St Laurent du Var, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Cros, Eze, La Trinité, Cap d'Ail, Nice Pont Michel) ; and
• The Lignes d'Azur network, which includes buses and trams.
