Delta Air Lines, the only commercial aviation company to offer direct flights between the Côte d’Azur and New York, has reached its 25th anniversary of connections between Nice and North America.
Since November 1991, the airline has safely transported over 2.3 million passengers on its five routes between the south of France and the US. It’s an impressive figure that amounts to nearly half of all residents in the French Riviera!
The Nice-New York was the first route for the Atlanta-based airline a quarter of a century ago, but today the flights paths have available been expanded to include destinations such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“Our onboard services have considerably evolved since our first flight in 1991,” says Delta’s vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Nat Pieper, “notably in the range of in-flight entertainment and WiFi, and reclinable seating, but the quality of our client service has remained the same.”
Delta Air Lines transports some 180 millions passengers each year to 312 destinations in 54 countries across six continents. In 2016, it was voted as being one of the top 50 most admired companies in the world by Fortune magazine and has been the most highly rated airline five times in the last six years according to the same publication.
