The south of France holds the record for having the most train delays in the entire country. More than 15% of TER trains arrived in the station at least five minutes later than announced late between April 2016 and March 2017.
More than 2,000 trains arrive late (at least five minutes after the scheduled arrival) in the PACA region per month, which works out as 67 trains per day. Although the number of trains cancelled in the area has decreased drastically since 2013 (a record high of 4,024 trains were cancelled in December 2013 compared to just 797 cancelled in December 2016), it’s still apparent that the SNCF could be doing more to improve its quality of service in the French Riviera and Provence.
The region of Bretagne, on the other hand, boasts the most punctual train service in France with less than 5% of their trains arriving late in the past year.
