This summer, the competition gathers once again high quality pyrotechnic shows, created by renowned artists in Monaco’s bay.

The Principality is dedicating four nights to these exceptional fireworks shows. This year, the competition will gather different nationalities and competitors, from Lithuania, Spain, England and Ukraine. T the competition has changed a little from the first edition in 1966, however spectacle has transformed from a pyrotechnic show to a pyromelodic show, which means that rhythm and music were added to the fireworks display.

The public can enjoy these mesmerizing shows from Quai Albert 1st as a high-power sound system is installed on the entire Port Hercule area . Twice a decade, all the previous year’s winners come back to the Principality for the Winners competition.

Last year, the competition changed its name to “Monaco Art en Ciel”. This evolution came from a Town Council’s will to give this prestigious event a truly unique identity. Rainbow colors recall the shades that will light the Monaco sky during the summer with four high quality pyrotechnic shows, of twenty minutes each. Two shows are scheduled in July (at 10pm) and two other shows in August (at 9.30pm).

In July, expert pyrotechnicians from Lithuania will present their spectacle on Saturday, the 20th and Spain on the 27th. In August, the last two shows will happen on Saturday the 3rd with England and Saturday the 10th with Ukraine.

The competition will be judged by a jury usually composed of some Town Council members, representatives of the Principality and some artists as well. Then, a Public Prize will awarded as well, after a public vote on the competition website, where the viewers can choose the best pyromelodic presentation.
