Under the high patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco, the second edition of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean will be held in the presence of international personalities and philanthropists in late September as part of wider efforts to promote ocean conservation.
The event will take place on the terraces of Monaco's opera house on 26th September, a date that coincides with the launch of the Monaco Yacht Show. On the programme: a red carpet welcome, a dinner prepared by a renowned chef, and performances by international artists. An auction, of which the proceeds will be used to support the Fondation Prince Albert II (FPA2), will also be taking place with collectable items and works of art.
The Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean is organised by the FPA2 and its Global Fundraising Chairman, Milutin Gatsby. Since 2006, the foundation has initiated and supported more than 400 projects across the Mediterranean, the Polar regions, and the rest of the world.
Last year’s edition of the Gala was organised with the support of many people such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Madonna and Adrien Brody. The proceeds from the night were used by the foundation to develop technological innovations, limit the climate change impact on the oceans, and fight against plastic pollution.
