Orchestra of Saint Petersburg performs in Nice

Opera de Nice. Copyright Robin Pollock On 10th September, the Orchestra of Saint Petersburg will make an appearance at the Opera of Nice, led by Italian conductor Fabio Mastrangelo.

The prestigious and oldest symphonic orchestra of Russia will interpret classics from their musical heritage featuring Igor Stravinsky, Piotr Tchaïkovski, Sergueï Rachmaninov, Mikhaïl Glinka, Alexandre Borodine, Nikolaï Rimsky-Korsakov and Sergueï Prokofiev in one of Nice's popular cultural venues.

The upcoming performance celebrates the 20th anniversary of a withstanding partnership between the orchestras of Nice and Saint Petersburg. In July, the choir of the Nice Opera played in the gardens of the Palais de Catherine in Tsarskoe Selo and accompanied the Symphony of the North Orchestra of Saint Petersburg in an exceptional ‘Carmen’ interpretation originally composed by Bizet, in the presence of local consular representatives and the Chairman of the Committee of Culture of Saint Petersburg.
