Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice Borromeo welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world on 28th February at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace. In a joint statement issued by the Palais Princier, Princess Caroline of Hanover and Countess Donna Paola Marzotto confirmed the happy news of their respective son and daughter: “Mother and baby are doing well.”
On Wednesday 1st March, the Palais Princier de Monaco confirmed rumours that had been circling with internet since Beatrice’s half-sister, Matilde, reportedly posted a photo of the principality from a suite at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace with the caption ‘28/02/17 new date to add in the calendar for my family’ and several blue heart emojis.
The Princess of Hanover, Prince Albert II of Monaco’s elder sister Caroline, and Beatrice’s mother, Countess Donna Paola Marzotto released a joint statement saying, “… [we] have the joy of announcing the birth of [our] grandson on 28th February 2017. Mother and baby are doing well.”
The name of Monaco’s newest citizen is yet to be revealed.
29-year-old Pierre, Princess Caroline’s younger son, and 31-year-old Beatrice met at university in Milan in 2008 and married in 2015.
