Vote for the best market in the south of France

Who doesn’t love heading down to the market at the weekend for fresh produce and local ingredients? Almost every village, town and city has its own, but where's the best?

Antibes' Marché Provençal on the Cours MassénaTF1 presenter Jean-Pierre Pernaut has launched a #VotrePlusBeauMarché initiative across the country with the help of regional press, including the Côte d’Azur’s Nice Matin. The newspaper is asking residents and tourists to vote for their favourite market from a pick of 18, the winner of which will be put forward for a nationwide vote.

Cannes and the Marché Forville
Monaco’s Marché de la Condamine
Cagnes-sur-Mer’s La Cité Marchande
Menton with its Halles Municipales
Toulon’s Marché du Cours Lafayette
Sanary-sur-Mer’s Marché Provençal
Hyères’ Marché Paysan Avenue Gambetta
Lorgues’ Marché  Provençal Cours de la République
Saint Tropez with the Marché Place des Lices
Salernes’ Marché Provençal sur le Cours Théodore Bouge
Saint-Raphaël and the Marché Couvert République

Nice is currently leading the vote, which is open for the next month, with 24% followed by Sanary (14%), Cannes (12%), Lorgues (10%), Toulon (8%)!
