The Bord de Mer between Antibes and the marina of Villeneuve-Loubet has reopened after several days of closure due to strong, onshore winds and waves.
Traffic on the D6007 (on the northern side of the train tracks that run along the coast) has been particularly difficult in the last few days due to ongoing works in the area that coincided with the severe weather. There will, however, now be some traffic respite for drivers this morning after the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes decided to lift controls that had shut down the RD6098 in both directions since midday on Saturday.
Although the winds should die off today, some parts of the region should still expect strong gusts of up to 45 and 50km/h. It will also be a cloudy start to the week, but there is sunshine and a return to warmer temperatures expected in the coming days.
