Monaco’s international tennis tournament has long been more than just a sporting event. Cancellation of the Riviera Classic

The Riviera Classic half-marathon, due to take place Sunday 12th March, has been cancelled. The Monegasque Athletics Federation has said that in light of the current state of emergency and the fight against illegal immigration, the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes decided not to allow the race to take place.Read more

Monaco kicks off the FIA World Rally Championship

It’s the sport’s longest-standing fixture and canvases some of the most beautiful terrain in Europe. From Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd, the 85th edition of the famous Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo will test the drivers’ skills, nerves and determination as well as their cars in 17 high speed stages through the lower Alps and the French Riviera. Read more

Calls for Ferrari to name their 2017 car after Jules Bianchi

A recently launched petition is calling on the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team to name their 2017 racing car after deceased Niçois driver Jules Bianchi. Taking the initials of the young driver - who died on 17th July 2015 after spending nine months in a coma following an horrific crash during the Japanese F1 race in 2014 - to designate SF17-JB, the petition hopes to immortalise the life and achievements of Bianchi. Read more
