Saint Tropez & Harley-Davidson

Bikers enter Saint TropezCalling all motorcycle and fans of rock and roll! The annual Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and Rock Festival will be returning for its 10th year to the Gulf of Saint Tropez with an exceptionally good music line-up promised. The legendary band ‘The Pretenders’ will be reuniting for the first time in eight years to play at the festival, alongside former ACDC band member Chris Slade and the Belgian rock band Triggerfingers. The festival marks the opening of the motor biking season and what better way to celebrate than beneath the Mediterranean sun in the famous town of Saint Tropez?

Harley-Davidson are one of America’s oldest manufacturers of motorcycles (now in their 114th year) and they will be showcasing their latest collection of bikes at the festival. A demonstration space will be installed in the car park at the Port Grimaud where people can come and try the bikes themselves and talk with people from the various French and Italian dealerships of Harley-Davidson.  There will also be a Harley-Davidson Village set up in the hosting campsite where people can buy all their merchandise and can even create their own unique Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The Custom Bike show will take place in the village of Grimaud. The show will take place in the village square and it will showcase some of the best custom motorcycle creations in Europe, along with awarding various prizes to the best in show. There will also be an opportunity for the public to vote on ‘The Most Beautiful Bike in Show’. The night will be finished off with electro singer Mat Bastard and the Belgian rock band Triggerfinger.

Saturday 13th May

Thousands of bikers will parade down the roads of Var under the Mediterranean sun and arrive at the famous town of Saint Tropez for the Harley-Davidson Parade. The rock highlight of the festival will take place Saturday night when the renowned group ‘The Pretenders’, author of the famous song ‘I’ll Stand By You’, take to the stage to celebrate the end culmination of the festival.    

The festival takes place from now until 14th May and it will begin at the campsite ‘Les Prairies de la Mer’ and finish in the town of Saint Tropez.
