Ticket giveaway! La Harpe au Sommet with Isabelle Moretti

Isabelle Moretti (C)ericlarraydieuWin tickets to the Cannes Orchestra and see a world-famous harpist!

The Orchestra de Cannes is hosting a lovely evening with a world-renowned harpist, Isabelle Moretti*. Known for her radiant and enthusiastic personality, Isabelle plays her instrument with generosity, sincerity and nobility. Her solo repertoire ranges from 18th century chamber music, sonatas for pedal harp, to complex contemporary creations which she often features in her recitals. Isabelle even performed a ragtime with Mstislav Rostropovitch in Evian.

She has performed with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie de Brême, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Orquestra de Córdoba, the Orquesta Sinfónica de la RTVE, the Orchestre de la Suisse-Romande, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the S.W.R Sinfonieorchester, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and most recently with the Bayerischer Rundfunks Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Neville Marriner.

She has won several prizes in the International Competitions of Geneva, Munich and Israel and has been the guest of the world’s greatest concert halls, including Alice Tully Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre Auditorium, the Musée d'Orsay, the Maison de Radio-France, the Salle Gaveau and La Folle Journée de Nantes. Isabelle is also a Knight of the National Order of Merit.

A passionate teacher, Isabelle gives Master classes throughout the world and teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Musique et de la Danse de Paris (CNSMD). Since 2008, she has also been Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

For this special concert, Isabelle will be performing Joaquin Rodrigo's Concerto d'Aranjuez. The idea for the concerto came to Rodrigo while staying in Paris and preparing to return to his native Spain, where the Spanish Civil War was coming to an end and the Second World War was about to break out. Aranjuez Concerto is considered to be a deep desire to escape reality.

Under the direction of Pavel Baleff, the Cannes Orchestra will then perform Mendelssohn's First Symphony, which he composed at the age of 15.

Riviera Insider is offering a pair of tickets to see this sensational harpist on 8th February at the Théâtre Debussy in Cannes. To take part in the competition, please send an email with the subject "Orchestra Cannes" and your postal address to
