We are giving away tickets to see the Cannes Orchestra on Friday, 20 December, at 8:30 pm at the Théâtre Croisette. On the program are works by Brahms and Beethoven, conducted by the enigmatic artistic director, Benjamin Lévy.
Brahms's Double Concerto for Violin and Cello will feature two young guest soloists who have been performing regularly for a long time: the violinist Alexandra Soumm (associate artist of the orchestra) and the cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière, who has performed at the "Victoires de la musique classique 2018 " as an instrumental soloist.
Of Beethoven's Fourth Symphony, Schumann said that it resembled "a slender Greek girl between two northern giants". Indeed, this passionate and lyrical page often remains in the shadow of the symphonies that surround it, the Eroica and the Fifth, although it is more playful and just as bold as the others.
BENJAMIN LEVY - DIRECTION
ALEXANDRA SOUMM - VIOLON, ARTISTE ASSOCIÉE
VICTOR JULIEN-LAFERRIÈRE - VIOLONCELLE
